Born in 1955 in the U.S. Naval Hospital in Sasebo, Japan, Jimmie grew up in a military family primarily in West Georgia in the Columbus-Fort Benning-Cusseta area. After high school, Jimmie served honorably as an Infantry Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division primarily at Fort Bragg, North Carolina from 1973-1977. Upon completing active military duty, Jimmie attended college and law school, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (emphasis in Marketing), Magna Cum Laude from Georgia Southwestern College, Americus, Georgia; and a Juris Doctor degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, Macon, Georgia; He is a member of the Bars of the State of Georgia and Dougherty County; Georgia Court of Appeals; Georgia Supreme Court; U.S. District Court Middle District of Georgia; U.S. District Court Northern District of Georgia; U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit; Member of Association of Trial Lawyers of America; Georgia Trial Lawyers Association; Workers’ Compensation Claimant’s Lawyers; Pro Bono volunteer for National Veteran’s Legal Services Project. Jimmie is married to the former Katrina Cooper of Camilla. Together, they have four adult children: Candi, Keith, Rusty, and Leslie. Jimmie has varied and broad-based interests. For leisure he enjoys spending time with his family; bible study; is an avid pilot; and shooting and collecting historic firearms. Jimmie and Tina are members of First Baptist Church - Leesburg. Jimmie has been practicing law in the Albany/Leesburg local area for over 24 years. Currently, his law practice is primarily focused on serious personal injury plaintiff’s cases, wrongful death, product liability and workers’ compensation injuries and death cases. He has spoken and taught at a number of seminars on a variety of legal topics.
